This DB25 to RJ45 adapter CAB-5MODCM can be used to connect a standard RJ45 to RJ45 rollover Console cable from your Cisco device to an external modem for remote management. By connecting the DB25 male side of this adapter to your modem you are left with a female RJ45 connection to connect one end of the male RJ45 console cable. Why do all this? When you connect the other RJ45 end of your console cable to the console port of your Cisco device you get remote management ability.
